In Calais, several services are reserved for women and families. That means no single men, and it is not negotiable: it is the condition that makes these places usable at all.
The Refugee Women's Centre answers on +33 6 71 51 18 15, Monday to Friday except Wednesday, 09:30 to 18:00.
They come out to the living sites: Tuesday, 11:00 to 12:00 and 13:30 to 15:30; Thursday, 11:00 to 12:00 and 13:30 to 17:00; and Friday, 11:00 to 12:00.
At the Secours Catholique day centre, the women and families space is open on Monday and Friday, 13:30 to 17:00, and on Tuesday, 16:00 to 17:00.
For showers, a shuttle for women and children leaves the day centre Monday to Friday, 14:00 to 15:00. Come before 14:30: after that the departure may have gone.
Utopia 56 can also call 115 for you for emergency accommodation, on +33 7 53 91 85 96.
For children, Project Play runs activities: +33 7 45 40 97 65.
Pregnancy, contraception, abortion, screening: all of it is free and covered by medical confidentiality, and nobody needs to be accompanied by their family. The details are in the article “Pregnancy, contraception and sexual health in Calais” on this site.
